The Arcade Fire Band Biography
A New Found Glory formed in the middle of 1997, comprising of vocalist Jordan Pundik, guitarists Steve Klein(ex-Shai Hulud vocalist) and Chad Gilbert, Ian Grushka on bass, and Joe Moreno on drums. However, drummer Cyrus Bolooki replaced Moreno following the bands initial EP release. The band soon became renowned for their extremely energetic live shows, the group toured up and down the East Coast, quickly selling out their 1997 debut EP "It's All About the Girls". The full "Nothing Gold Can Stay" followed in 1999 on Drive-Thru; A New Found Glory later signed to major-label MCA, re-releasing the hit "Nothing Gold Can Stay". The EP followed soon after during the spring of 2000, welcoming the release of the complete-length New Found Glory later that year. The album contained a re-recorded version of the fans no.1 favorite "Hit or Miss," also marked the band officially dropping the A from their name. The band then had a very high-profile tour with blink-182. Soon after, an appearance on the Warped Tour helped the band gain alot more exposure, and they went back into the studio at the very end of 2001 to work on the follow-up tour. The results were then released in the 2002 as Sticks and Stones. The Stones single "My Friends Over You" was aan enormous hit, and helped snag New Found Glory a headlining position for the 2002 Warped Tour expedition. After the tour and its hype, New Found Glory re-entered the recording studio with a newfound restlessness. The result, announced in May 2004, was Catalyst. The live "DVD This Disaster: Live in London" arrived during that fall as well. Catalyst peaked at no.3 on Billboard's Top 200 list, propelled in part by the success of "All Downhill from Here." Hooking up with the well-known producer Thom Panunzio (who's associated with Ozzy Osbourne, Tom Petty), New Found Glory released their fifth full-length album - "Coming Home" in Sept 2006. They then immediately hit the road with a lengthy set of headlining dates throughout America and Great Britain, with the Early November and Cartel in tow.
